We, in the UK, need a Small-Company Quality-Charter!

In business, your Reputation is all you have to stand on. It’s no use offering a Bargain service when the service provider backs out at the slightest hint at a problem.
I have had an awful experience with a scooter purchased to aid my mobility (as some of you may know, I am an early-stage MS sufferer). It arrived after an extended period with a number of problems including a cracked and leaking battery.
I contacted the seller who was, on the first call, very sympathetic, but then BLOCKED MY NUMBER, leaving me with a bitter choice. I could go to his address, costing about a hundred quid for the return journey, with no guarantee of a solution, as he states on his site that “no stock is held at this address” (hmm, shoulda spotted that one…).
Second, launch a legal case at a potential cost of hundreds of pounds and no guaranteed outcome.
Third, buy a new battery (which I did).
Good customer service doesn’t have to be like this.
I must admit that, one time so far, we had a problem with a pair of Caterthun Classics. The tweeter died, so we swapped them out with a good pair. Unfortunately, that pair then had a serious drop on their way to the customer, binding a bass-unit.
On hearing this, I immediately dispatched my son with their repaired pair, in his car, 120 miles to exchange, with guaranteed success and minimal inconvenience to our customer.
I’m not saying that’s Good. What I’m saying is that our response was good, because I know what it’s like to be let down, and I wouldn’t want to let down any one of the members of Alacrity’s growing family.
You are all safe with us.
